Locked TMJ for over 2 years...HELP

I have had TMJ for about 5 years and it started to lock up every once in a while 3 winters ago when it finally locked up. Since then it will NOT stay unlocked. I've had had splints made, but they didn't help. When I went into to see the doctor, he'd manipulate it to made the disc pop back into place, but as soon as I'd close my jaw, it'd lock right back up again He sent me to get physical therapy which help, but the difference it made was minimal and insignificant to getting my jaw unlocked. I had a bilateral TMJ MRI done in late 2008 and showed that my left TMJ disc would not retract and it also showed that I have degeneration to both joints, but mainly on my right, probably for compensating for the Left TMJ being locked for so long...

Anyways, I've been wondering if there is any real solution to this...and to make this painful annoyance stop...

Yes, I want you to give Dr. Ed Miller a call he is in Scottsdale. A fine TMJ expert. His office # (480)513-2620, 9377 East Bell Road ste. 301. I could right you a lengthy e-mail and tell you why and what and not be able to help you from here. But I know Dr. Miller will be able to help you.
Good luck

wow, great! thanks for getting back to me so quickly! The TMJ doctor I went to was a joke and did nothing to help and only gave me pain meds, then the oral surgeon said i could get surgery if it was painful. But all in all everyone I've seen so far has been no help...
