I am very confused

Would you be concerned?

I have had a total thyroidectomy in 05 and diagnosed with cancer at the same time.  Since then I have had 2 rounds of 131 radiation and now I am on levothyroxin 0.175.  In June 08 the dr didn't tell me that I have cycts that appeared on my ultrasound 4 of them ranging from 2mm to 7 cmm with change in size over the year.  They just did a Tg which came back at 2.1 and TgAB at .8.  this dr wants me to wait until June and be retested with all labs and ultrasound but I got another opinion from the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and they want everything retested in April.  Why are they waiting?  Why not do it now?  I would do another round of preventative radiation like my dr wants but I am not done having kids.  The dr at CTC said that if anything does change in April that I will be scheduled for surgery.  I am so confused.  I dont' know why they are waiting and I really can't tell if I am having a reoccurance of the cancer plus I want to look for another dr and don't really understand what type of endo I have to look for.

My personal opinion would be NOT to wait.
Demand answers as you have a previous history of Thyca.
What have you got to lose?

Only an irate Doctor who hates his judgement being questioned......
Food for thought........

The cysts may be persistent/recurrent cancer.
Before considering surgery, would do FNA biopsy of the largest of these for cytology and Tg-washout (as cysts are often negative on pathology review).
The Tg level suggests persistent thyroid tissue.  The cysts are quite small though and if these are the only lesions, then it may be reasonable to monitor closely until they reach greater than 10mm in size.
if you have not had thyrogen stimulation for I-131 scanning (low dose) and Tg level, that may provide some additional helpful information.
