I have been diagnosed by my endocinologist as having subacute thyroiditis with a multinodular goiter.TSH- .07, T4 Free- 2.0, T3 Tota-l 282, T3 Free- 550. Iodine uptake 0. However my GP called and told me that she believes that I have Lupus.MY blood tests came back as; Thyroglobuin AB- 131, ESR Wes-t- 84, Anti-nuclear AB -Positive, Anti- Nuclear AB Titer- 1:160, ANA Homogenous, C-reactive protein 2.1, DNA (DS) ABS- 85 as well as high liver enzimes and slight amemia. Could this all be from the thyroidosis?

Most of my symptoms have been getting better this week. However my heart palpatations had gotten stronger (not faster). My doctor increased the doseage of the beta blocker I have been taking.I have been taking a beta blocker as well as ptu for about a month. One day after increasing the beta blocker dosage I began to develope hives on my wrists, stomach, ankles lover back and neck. I have not been exposed to any thing else that is new. I am taking Zertec and benadryl but they do not seem to be helping. Could the hives be from my illness.

This does appear to be thyroiditis and this inflammation is significant as evidenced by the high ESR.  The inflammation may trigger an immune system activation where the ANA may become elevated, then begin to normalize.  Alternatively, you may have a rheumatologic problem as well.  Would consider letting the thyroiditis resolve -- it takes 5-10 weeks usually, then repeat these labs -- and re-evaluate -- if still any questions, have a rheumatology consult.
