You need to have your Frees tested. FT3 and FT4. It's obvious that you have Hashi's since your antibodies are so high.
You may be very sensitive to these meds and it might take a very long time to get up to the dose you need. Take it slow and listen to your body. Take care. Remar
You can ask your Dr for a copy of your results and post them in the Thyroid forum. The people there are very knowledgeable about thyroid problems. If your not in the higher end of the Free ranges then you probably need to increase your meds.
Is your Dr testing TSH, FT3 and FT4? Obviously he/she checked your antibodies because you know you have Hashi's.
If your not converting then you may need to add a T3 med. Take care. Remar
im not sure what my throid levels are at but the docter told me i had Hashi and what are the normal dosages of levothyroxine? I currently am taking 0.100mg(100MCG) And I still want to sleep 23 Hours a day exercise by walking & put weight on Just by looking at food!Whats wrong with me?
A TSH of 4, even w/ Hashi (high TPO) does not require treatment. Usually TSH >10 requires definite treatment. So if not tolerating meds, then consider a trial w/o.
However a high(ish) TSH may promote goiter growth....this is one consideration in deciding on treatment.
