Teeth pain with methimazole

I have been reading alot about teeth sensitivity, gum and jaw pain after RAI.  I was dx with Graves about 2 months ago.  After taking methimazole for two wks, I started having REALLY sensitive teeth and the pain gets worse until I take tylenol or ibuprofen.  I am up to every three hours taking something for pain.  My dentist, GP and Endo do not know anything about this pain-what is causing it.  I have not had RAI, just methimazole.  Bad thing is ..I was having no symptoms-the TSH and T4 showed up in routine blood work.  I had breast cancer 7 years ago with chemo and radiation.  then was dx with RA.  I began walking, eating healthy, and felt better than ever - until Graves treatment.  Any suggestions for the teeth/jaw/gum pain?

This is possible -- usually taste alterations are more common though.  Consider changing to a brand such as tapazole or northyx to see if this makes a difference.

Thanks for answering.  Isn't Methimazole just the generic of Tapazole?  You think the brand name might make a difference?  I'll certainly check with my endo at my next appt. to see about changing it.  If I don't get rid of this pain, I may have to stop the med.  Also,
I had bloodwork done last week because of my throat hurting.  My primary md checked my lipids and all of my cholesterol numbers went up 40 to 70 points except the HDL which went down.  I read that the methimazole would do that.  Would the brand name make a diff in the chol and triglycerides?  I have a strong family history of heart disease, so I don't need that effect either.  Again, thanks for your time.
