Thryoid, menopause

I had a tsh of 5.0 and the dr started me on snythorid 25 mg every other day, I am very sensitive to meds, anyway after 2 weeks I started with cramps and spotting and now a small period.  I 57 and have been in menopause for over wo years.  Started getting really realy bad nigth sweats a couple weeks ago too.
Is this just a fluke or can thryoid do this?

i saw my endroconologist today, she said that with teh thryoid nodules, the anti bodies high and the Ra that I have says I should take the thryoid, she does not belive that the period has antyhign to do with the thryoid, although lat time I took it it did the same thing, who konws. She also said that I should shoot for 2 or below in my TSH, I have all the lab works for the last 10 years and it has alwasy been around 1.90 just recently started going up.

This is possibly related to thyroid meds - would discuss w/ your doctor; also, a TSH of 5.0 does not mandate treatment, so it may be better to observe w/o meds, but you should discuss w/ your doctor.
