Hi I have Hashimotos and I agree with the person ahead of me. I went in to the doctor completley a mess, I probably had more than 30 of the typical hypothyroid symptoms, and they had become so severe that I ended up with heart palpitations and numbing on the right side of my body. I have had several thyroid TSH tests and my levels are always normal, this has really perplexed the doctors. They took an auto antibody test to test for auto immune and that was high. Hashimotos takes it's time. It gradually over time fights your thyroid until you become hypothyroid, it's important that even though your levels are fine that you take a replacement med and have your blood tested often, your levels will change all the time and your dose will be adjusted. This has been a battle for me, and it's really hard to feel so sick all the time, but I know that it's all part of the process. Hang in there
shelly, I'm not a dr., but it sounds like you have Hashimoto's disease, but are not yet hypothyroid, or at least not yet according to the tests. Hashimoto's comes on slowly over many years, and it may take awhile before the test shows hypo. You should stay on the meds and continue to be monitored as the disease progresses. Try to learn everything you can about it. Good luck!
