Thyroid question

I am 53 this year,post menopause, in 2010 I had a biopsy for a nodule, turns out I have 3 nodules, the biopsy was fine & the GP I see said my blood test was within range. However- I am having a lot of sweating spells 10 to 12 a day & through the night, I am unable to sleep at night, I have gained weight I have kind of panic attacks, I have palpitations, high blood pressure, foggy head, the list goes on. I can't exert myself at all or I sweat profusely. This is very hard to take & I am wondering if I could have Hoshimoto's ? also if I was to have my thyroid out would these symptoms stop & what med's would I have to take afterwoods?
Thank you for any help, I live in a small town 2 hours away from a major city so the most help I can get is my GP who I don't really have a lot of faith in.

The nodules themselves would not cause the symptoms unless there is an impact in thyroid hormone levels.  This is best tested by looking at the blood test TSH.  I would start there.  In general, thyroid surgery does not help symptoms such as these.  Unless of course, there is an overactive thyroid that cannot be treated with other options besides surgery.
