sounds like you need another endocrine evaluation as soon as possible -- good luck getting all your answers. they were testing for addisons and low calcium b/c in rare cases these are linked to graves disease (polyglandular autoimmune disorders)
Hi, Sandy--
One part of your account jumped out at me and popped me in the eye: "My GP said...." These days, there are such torrents of new information for a physician to absorb that it is difficult for any physician, whether a GP or a specialist, to stay current with the part of medicine in which he or she practices. Do not take your GP's word for anything that falls into a specialty area. That is my fervent advice, even if you--like me--are fortunate enough to have a GP who is highly competent, hard-working, and caring. Given the medical history you describe, either you have an endocrinologist, you had one and need to see him or her again (assuming that it was someone you would want to see again), or you need to find one. Press for this, too, if a referral from a GP is required. You need someone with enough training in endocrinology to be able to look insightfully at your situation as a whole, and your GP is not that person even if he or she is trying to be. Could you be sleepy all the time for a reason that has nothing to do with your endocrine system? Sure, it's possible, but it should be a specialist, not a generalist, who figures that out.
Good luck!
Jenny
