large thyroid cyst

I had a large thyroid cyst, over 5 cm, drained back in November.  I had a FNA and it came back benign.  The cyst has since returned and feels larger than before.  I'm having another ultrasound tomorrow, and then I'm assuming another FNA after my doc gets the report.  My question is do you think I'll need to have surgery?  Is it normal for these to come back?  If it keeps returning, will they just remove that portion of my thyroid?

Half of these recur after draining.  The usual treatment after 2-3 draining/recurrence cycles is surgery, the alternative is alcohol injection but this is only done by a few people in the US although it works very well.

I have one that size. I think the treatment of choice for cysts is now PEI not surgery.
