thyrodectomy

i just had a thyrodectomy three months ago, i have started to gain weight, i am a very skinny person so i can tell immediately something is not working properly.
I went to see my endocrinologyst to tell him, about my gaining weight, my constipation, water retention and discomfort, he told me to go do some blood work... i had them performed and the results gave that my TSH was a little bit high 4.65o, so he gave me thryroid 112 mg. and told me to have another blood work in 6 more weeks.
During all this time, i have not felt better, i am still bloated, my eyes are swollen, horrible, if i don't take many, many things to go to the bathroom, my constipation is getting worse and worse, so is my water retention. In other words i feel very disgusted.
The six weeks went by, and performed my blood work again, hoping this will indicate some kind of hipoactiviy, but, to my surprise, the results came up normal,. TSH:2.670.... T4: 1.4... T3; 32. So, the doctor told me that my weight increase, my being contipated, and the water retention is not due to the thyroid. but, it is veeeeeeery coincidential, that all these changes occur immediately after my thyroid removal.
I am positively sure is due to the surgery.
Is there anything else i can do? what else could it be, i eat very little, i exersice a lot, i am a gymnast. i don't fit in my clothes,,,,,please help me. give me some advise. What could all these changes be, even thou, my blood work seemed to be normal....
I beg you doctor or whoever to please answer me

God Bless you all

Esther

Ihad exactly the same problems. After TT (graves disease) I had the same symptoms. It takes from 6 months to a year for a stable situation. All the best.

Target TSH is around 1.0 -- work with your doctor, but w/ TSH of 2.67, this is essentially normal and there may not be much more to do from a thyroid standpoint w/ possible exception (though usually not helpful) of adding cytomel (T3).

Thank You Alex por your response, i did not have graves disease.. the reason of my surgery was because i had a big nodule that started to be dangerous for my health to keep, so doctors decided it was best for me to remove them
My daughter who now is 32, had graves disease, which started at the age of 14, she went to many treatments, ending up in iodine. they burnt her thyroid when she was 18, because the hiperthiroidism due to this disease got horrible.
She used to be skinny, but since she had this iodine treatment, she neeeeeeeever got back to her normal weight, altough she is in control of her visits to the endo, and taking syntroid as well.. she cannot loose weight, . She feels very frustrated, dieting at all times.
I am glad to know that you recovered so well, after having this disease.
Thank you very much for taking your time to answer me.
God bless you
