Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type II

Dear Doctor:
I just learned a really good friend of mine that I just reconnected with, has Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type II.  Could you please tell me if this is a disease that anywhere in the Country they are able to fix.  I mean I know it is incureable - there is no cure, but is there somewhere that she would possibly be able to get help to prolong it, to help her in some way,?  Is there some surgery?  Is there anywhere at all that could possibly help that is experimenting or whatever?  She has 2 children and is marriied.  I would hate to see here waste away so rapidly.  They say she will end up in a wheel chair and she is already using a walker and cane.  This is very sad.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know.  She said she does not want to be in a wheel chair yet.  As she is in her mid 30's.

Would be best to go to a major university center to an endocrine surgeon and endocrinologist to sort out the severity of her case and discuss treatment options as well as screening of family members

The reason I posted it under this forum is because I know it is has more to do with thyroid disorders than any other topic.  I read up on it a little bit after she told me about it and what was going on with her.  Alot of thyroid problems and her thyroid level is extremely high.
