Going to ENT today, lumps are still growing. Worried.
any virus can cause swollen lymph nodes - this is common.
If this is case, the nodes will decrease with time.
If thyroid cancer spreads to neck nodes, surgery is usual approach.
CT scan came back clear, ENT said it could be viral and she wants me to come in and compare CT scan with where the lumps are in my neck.
What virus can cause this?
I went to the Opthamologist today, no swollen or inflammed nerves. he said he is sending me to a neuro Opthamologist to try to find out why I am having bouts of double vision and he is going to talk to my regular neuro why she is just giving up on trying to figure out the cause of the abnormal EEG.
What is the treatment for it if it has metastisized to the lymph nodes? You say it can spread even if it was encapsulated, then I don't understand why they didn't go ahead and do radiation to keep it from spreading in the first place.
My body has been through so much with the UCTD and now this and on top of it I am having bouts of double vision that come on sudden and last up to 15 minutes with some type of weird feeling in my head and then goes away.
It could be a different problem altogether. But it will be important for your endocrinologist to review labs (including TSH and thyroglobulin panel) as well as to perform a good neck ultrasound to evaluate these lumps. CT complements the ultrasound, but ultrasound is more sensitive to evaluate the characteristics of lymph nodes.
MicroPTC can lead to lymph node metastasis, even if encapsulated.
