Adding cytomel

I have been slim all of my life. I was diagnosed with thyroid ca in October of 2010 and had total thyroidectomy and I-131 treatment.  Since then I have been on synthroid and have steadily gained wait no matter what I do. I can eat or starve. Exercise or not. I am on 150mcg now and am still fat, tired and short of breath. Can adding cytomel help and can I use it even if  I had thyroid ca?

Keeping TSH in target range (usually slightly low-ish for cancer) may help metabolism, but there is some recent evidence favoring T4-T3 (ie, adding cytomel) in patients who have had thyroidectomy.  It is not a weight loss medication, but may help.
