Hi,
make sure they test iron, b12, etc. Sometimes "hypo" symptoms could actual be from other cause.
Perhaps your doctor would let you try a mixture of T3/T4 or natural dessicated thyroid. This may help some people feel better.
Please post what your actual FT3 / FT4 levels are. If these are low normal, you may still need some adjustment of meds to feel better (many people feel better with levels in the mid to higher normal range).
Sometimes the symptoms related to hypothyroidism is a direct abnormality of the actual thyroid hormones Free T3 and Free T4.
Your post is still open for Dr. Lupo's thoughts.
Welcome to MedHelp.
I am experiencing the same problems as you are. My endo is keeping my tsh supressed and therefore I have more synthroid then I really need but am experiencing symptoms of hypo not hyper. My last tsh test came back as 0.027. He told me that there is no help for me and I had to live with it. I find this hard to believe. I have hair loss, fatigue, tinnitus, occassional heart palpitations. Is there not help for me out there? Eggnelle - I feel your pain. This *****.
If the labs are coming back "normal" then one alternative would be to add a small dose of cytomel to the levothyroxine to see if this helps as your symptoms seem to reflect those of hypothyroidism. Sometimes that does not even help and then one must look at non-thyroid issues as a cause. The TSH is the most useful lab and in general the target range is 0.5-2.5 - talk to your doctor about the goals in your case.
