I need help deciding what to do. I have been complaining to my doctor for the last few years about hypothyroid symptoms (15 pound weight gain for no reason, cold intolerance, constipation...etc). He said my levels were fine. Then I went to an allergist who called me and said that my thyroid was producing antibodies and that I should have my TSH levels tested again. My other doctor's office called me yesterday and said that my TSH was 4.65, but that my t3 and t4 levels were normal. He put me on 25mcg of Synthroid, but I haven't taken it yet because it said that it could cause anxiety symptoms (something that I have struggled with for years). In fact, after my daughter was born in 95' I had all the symptoms of hyperthyroid...rapid weight loss, tachycardia, etc.I thought it was just anxiety since I seem to flip flop back and forth between 2 extremes. My question is this: Are ALL of the symptoms I've been experiencing for the last 15 years related to my thryoid? AND do you think I will have an adverse reaction to the medication. I don't do well with medicine in general...it seems like I ALWAYS have some kind of strange reaction. Since I'm producing antibodies, is the situation only going to get worse? ANY information would be helpful.
* I also had a complete hysterectomy 5 years ago and do not take any hormone replacement for reaction reasons
