Found A Typical cells

I am new to this site and glad to have found it. I have had a FNB that came back back inconclusive then another that came back benign. I felt the lump was pushing on my vocal cords as it was in the back and it irritated me. 2 weeks ago i had the left side removed. I spoke with my dr yesterday and he informed me that my results were sent away for further investigation as the biopsy done here showed A-Typical cells and abnormal cells. So the surgeon informed me that we are not out of the woods yet and that it was a good thing I pressed to have it removed. ( we have A LOT of cancer in my family) So now I need to wait until the end if next week for diagnosis! Freakin g out  a it here. How often does A typical cell mean cancer? Most of what I have found tells me it is either cancer, pre- cancer that will become cancer or it is at the beginning stage just turning cancer. Is all this correct?
Really not looking forward to slither surgery. My cousin was just diagnosed this summer with lymphoma and is really struggling. Hoping if this is cancer it has not spread to my lymph nodes!
Any info would be great!!!
Thanks!!!

you need to wait for the final report, I know the waiting is tough, but otherwise any suggestions would be purely speculative.

The best thing you can do is not to get ahead of yourself for your own sanity. I have had 2 FNB 2 Ultrasounds a partial Thyroidectomy with frozen section that all came back inconclusive. It wasn't until the rest of the lump came back from being reviewed and diasected at another lab did I finally get the diagnosis of Follicular Carcinoma. Within a month and a half it was a rollercoaster and I felt no control. I can tell you after complete removal now of my Thyroid and soon I will take Radioactive Iodine Treament I am feeling much more relief having it gone. I too come from a long line of cancer patients and am caring for my Mom at this time with Cancer.Just know whatever happens you  are never alone and Trust in your Doctors and most of all Trust in the Good Lord above.
