Graves and difficulty getting pregnant

I am currently on 450 mg of PTU and still am unsuccessful getting pregnant.  Does graves or the medicine make it more difficult?

Thank you for your answer.  My endo knowing I am trying to conceive has opted PTU over I-131 and is strongly against surgery.  I just went down to 200mg of PTU after my level came back from 1600 to 394.  I assume as my levels become more stablized my chances increase.

Graves and other autoimmune thyroid problems  (Hashimoto's) do make it difficult to become pregnant.  450mg of PTU is a fairly large dose, if thyroid levels are too high or too low then preganancy is mroe difficult as well.  In some cases we recommend I-131 or surgery to definitively treat the hyperthyroidism before trying to conceive.  In the case of I-131, pregnancy must be delayed by at least 6 months.
