Hair falling out and Iam a desperate crying mess!

My hair started to fall out in early May.I .Now its all going down the drain and Iam a crying mess I dont want to be blad Iam depressed and dont know what to do!

I went to my dr and they checked my T3 UPTAKE AND T4 said it could be the cause it came back as

T4-13.6 (NORMAL. RANGE.4.7 - 11.5)
T3 UPTAKE- 34.0 (NORMAL RANGE 24.2 - 34.2)
FTI-4.62 (NORMAL RANGE-1.68-3.80)

My DR has not been much help he didnt even want to order the thyroid test I had to ask for it.Then came back in a week later to get my results only to have him send me to an endocrinologist that I cant get in to see untill August!!! Ill be bald by then! I live in a small town in KY Not alot of good docs around I have to go two hours away to see the endocrinologist and they are so booked up.I think my Dr should have at least tried me on something to make my hair stop coming out .Iam thinking about trying to find another DR. get a 2nd opinion.I am clueless.

The dr said I have alot of symptoms of HYPERTHYROIDISM.Also Iam on Birth control pills and symbicort and albuterol which I read can affect the results and make them high.Shouldnt he do a free t3 and t4 and TSH?

So here Iam weeks of my hair coming out and nothing is being done Iam taking xtra good care of my hair and taking vitamins but still it comes out in clumps.I thought it could be stress I found out in feb my aunt had breast cancer and I have been under alot of stress. The sides are way thin and i can see my scalp in places.

My other symptoms have been fatigue, weakness in my muscles and muscle aches sometimes, headaches, constipation, slow heart beat and other times high heart rate but iam on asthma meds. Also shaky hands, dry skin, brittle nails that wont grow.It tok me over 3 years to lose 75 pounds with diet and exercise. Also some constipation, shortness of breath sometimes (again i do have asthma and anxiety).THE HAIR LOSS IS WORSE WHEN I GO OFF MY BC PILLS TO HAVE MY PERIOD.

I have some new test results would wonder If you mind looking at them-
NEW RESULTS-
FT4- 1.19
FT3- 2.6
TSH-0.471
ANTIBODYS TEST-(TPO- 7) (antithyroglobulin-Less Than 20)

From my other tests done mid may my DR was thinking I was hyperT now my TSH has went back up into normal ranges. My question is what would make it go low than Back up? Also I found out I have a small goiter is  this anything to worry about should I be keeping an eye on it? I am still losing my hair I think Ive lost about half my hair volume in the last month and a half.Could my FreeT3 be causing my HypoT synptoms I never thought I was HyperT I was actually confused when they told me I was HyperT I have most of the Hypo symptoms. Also would  a lower but "normal" range T3 make it harder to lose weight and cause my hair loss and other symptoms? Iam just confused why my numbers are so low.My endo wants me back in 3months for a re check. But in the meantime my family doc is sending me to a dermatologist to rule out possible reasons for my hair loss.

I know how you feel when I first started having my symptoms from my Hypothyroid I lost all my hair first it started just breaking appart like it was all dead then came out in clumps. I was devastated no woman wants to be bald but there is hope it's a hair product called Nioxin you can get it in any hair salon or product sypply store. This stuff saved my hair and even made it grow back thicker and fuller then it was before it had falen out. I was told that this product is used by cancer patients to prevent hair loss due to chemo. It's about $30 to $40 but worth every penny.

Additional testing to confirm hyperthyroidism is appropriate -- TSH, Free T4, Free T3.  The most common cause of hyperthyroidism is graves disease - this usually requires treatment - in some cases the primary doctor can start this.  An I-123 nuclear scan can confirm the cause of the hyperthyroidism.

Sorry this is happening to you hon. Don't worry, it does come back,I know others this happened to. It sounds like you are hypo not hyper, by your symptoms and your doc did outdated tests! Yes you're right, it should be the FT3 and 4 and tsh, also antibodies testing. Hang in there and take hair skin and nails vitamins, also a lot of protein helps.Find a new doc that'll run the right tests. You might be in a hyper phase of Hashi possibly.
