Have questions concerning thyroid symptoms

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia however have more problems. The last blood  test results were done in May (ranges are in parenthesis)  FT4 - .7 (.6 -1.8)  TSH 2.13 (.35-5.5) FT3 2.9 (2.3 – 4.2) TPO <10; I have had my left thyroid gland removed due to nodules, right gland has two nodules each less than 1CM in size, gland is enlarged. Currently experiencing swollen tongue, swelling around eyes, coldness in feet at all times, hands at night.  Muscle and joint pain that is not being helped by the fibro medications prescribed and have been taken them for over a month.   Can my thyroid be causing these problems?

People always base if there is a problem or not on lab results. Just because the lab results are normal doesn't mean nothing is wrong. I have all these symptoms for the past 3 years that I think could be hypothyroidism- hair loss, cold easily, very fatigued, irregular periods, depression, irritable, constant ringing in the ears, constipation, digestive problems, cannot lose weight, slightly anemic and more and more. Test results can be normal but take years to show up abnormal in the tests. I started going to a homeopathic doctor and he has helped out somewhat. The other day he told me my symptoms and signs are possibly from the thyroid. He referred me to a doctor he goes to that is going to try me on natural treatments for an under active thyroid. I am going to get an ultrasound done to see if there are any nodules.
Good luck. Just wanted to share this with you.

Your thyroid levels are normal with no indication that thyroid medication would be of benefit.  The symptoms for thyroid are very nonspecific, so it is important to look at the levels.  In this case, the levels look fine.

Given the history of thyroid removal and right sided nodules, some docs may be tempted to start thyroid meds; this is not unreasonable to try but it may not help any of your symptoms.
