question about thyroid nodule...

A recent chest CT scan found a "1 cm right thyroid lobe nodule" It says that it can be followed with ultrasound if clinically warranted.

Looking back at past chest CT scan from 6 months ago, I found that it said Nodules within the thyroid gland that measure </= 10-mm in long axis."

1. Are these 2 scans referring to the same thing or is the recent finding new?

2. What does "</= 10mm in long axis mean"?

3. What does clinically warranted mean?

4. When should an ultrasound be done?

5. Should I be concerned?

Thank you in advance.

Ultrasound has been preformed. Have been diagnosed with "Nontoxic uninodular goiter". Can you please explain to me what this is as I am confused. Thank you.

Sounds like the same thing -- 10mm is 1 cm...long axis is greatest dimension seen/measured.  Ultrasound should be done now and used as baseline for future ultrasound surveillance of these small nodules.
