I was put on Metoprolol in April 2012 b/c of MAT. By mid-July, I was shedding massive amounts of hair and losing lashes and thinning brows. MD agreed that it was b/c of the beta blocker, so I was weaned from it by Aug.31. I was told the hair shedding would continue for up to a year b/c of TE. Well, by last fall (2013), the shedding hadn't stopped, so I was put through a battery of blood tests in September. My thyroid results were "normal", but "normal" according to previous levels, I believe: TSH 3.30, T3 Total 85, Cortisol 19.3, Vitamin B12 518, Iron 68, Iron Binding Capacity (Unsaturated) 290, Iron Binding Capacity Total 358, Ferritin 82, Zinc 93. So, off I went to a dermatologist who looks after hair loss clients. She said I have CTE. Then, more blood tests in March 2014: TSH 1.65, 25-OH Vitamin D 28.7, Iron 96, and Ferritin 67. (I had tried to follow a "modified" anti-goiteroid diet to see if I could lower the TSH - and it seems to have worked.) Anyhow, here it is June 2014 and I am still shedding hair like crazy. I'm now using Latisse for my lashes, brows, and side hair part... So, there's the history and here's my question. Despite normal numbers from my blood tests, could I have hypothyroidism? That's the only thing that seems to explain the hair loss at this point - especially since I've not taken any meds since August 2012. Thank you for any advice!
