Elavated TSH normal T3 and T4

Do I need to be on synthroid 25mg? I had blood work done 3 weeks ago. My TSH was 6.72, T3 was 115,T4 was 8.1, T3 free was 363. I do have a small goiter which I have had since childhood. It has never been a problem and has been checked by a ENT.I am 37y/o female in perimenapause. I feel fine. I  just started this medicine 1 week ago. I don't like the idea of being dependant on meds. Any advise would be great. Thank you.

Based on the numbers, it is not absolutely necessary.
If you are not planning pregnancy and otherwise feel well, it would be reasonable to monitor without treatment until TSH is >10.
However, sometimes treatment will help control growth of goiter.
