Taking the medication the same way every day, apart from food or other meds (including vitamins) is a start. Then make sure there is not a generic being substituted. must also review other medications and conditions to look for absorption or binding problems. These are often difficult things to sort out and can be frustrating for patients and docs.
My 15 year old daughter has been treated by her family doctor for thoracic back pain for the past 2 years. She develops severe "knots" in her muscles and has not gotten relief with traditional therapies. Doctor ordered blood tests and an MRI. Her thyroid test came back 7.84 (TSH). He then ordered additional thyroid screen one week later and TSH was 5.39 which I guess is still high. Antibodies test was also run with thyroglobulin at 5.18. Apparently T3 and T4 levels were within normal limits. Does any of this make sense? I am confused and do not understand what these tests mean. He mentioned Hypothyroidism and we are scheduled to see an endocrinologist this week. Just would like to have as much knowledge as possible before appointment. Also, Could this be the cause of her back problems. She does not have any traditional symptoms of hypothyroidism. She is 5' 7" and 116 pounds. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I do take the medication same time every day without any thing else. I checked and the levoxly is not a generic and I do not take any other drugs (except Kariva at night). I would not know why my hair is falling out or what to ask the doctor to check. I am so worried that I will be the only bald one in my family.
Thank you doctor
