How can I get more sleep and have more energy?

Hello Doctor, I'm 85 years old and I just had surgery on Dec. 14, 2007. I had a goiter removed from my chest and a removal of my thyroid on my left side. The right side was removed when I was 33 years of age. I've been on Synthroid medication most  of my life. Now I'm on 100 mg . I'm haveing lower back pain when I stand for a short time and a pain on the right side of my neck; and I can't sleep through the night  ( I'm up every 2 to 3 hours and I want to nap through the day) I do get up every morring between 6 and 7 AM to take my Synthroid and I go back to sleep if I can. I get very tried and I'm feeling a little depressed because of it. Is there any hope of me getting back to be some what normal. I can't even do light house work without pain. I do hope you can help me. I know your not God but you are part of his
work.
Thank you,
Annie

I am not certain if the symptoms you are having are related to thyroid or the recent surgery.  Would make sure the TSH is normal (1-3 for your case) on this dose of synthroid and have an evaluation (? orthopedic) into the pain and consider physical therapy if needed.

Thank you for replying. I will check on my TSH with my Doctor. I guess I'm not very good about complaining to my Doctor; but I will do so very soon. Thank you again. God Bless you and Family.
