I am a 35 year old female in general good health with polycystic ovarian syndrome managed by the Pill, diet and exercise. A kidney stone I recently passed was found to be of the calcium phosphate variety, leading the doctor to perform a PTH test that came back high (69, lab range 13-54) but my blood calcium and phosphate were both normal (2.35 and 0.95 respectively); neither have ever been elevated in prior blood tests and my urine calcium is also normal. Would this still likely be a hyperparathyroid or could the elevated PTH have something to do with my PCOS? Thanks.
