Hyperthyroid with normal tsh?

Hi, im 33 year old man, i just had comprehensive blood tests private, as my nhs doctor wouldnt help

Vit D = 26, Normal range = 75 to 200
Vit Folate = 3.8, normal range 4.6 - 18.7
Vit B12 = 285, Norm range = 191- 946 Although norm! i think low, still only 90 off low in wide range!
Creatinine level of 114, abnormal is above 110
Whit blood cell = 4.3, Norm range 4 - 11
Fasting glucose 5, Norm is above 6.2

TSH = 2
Free t4 =  25.2 , Norm range 12-22

I had been thinking i would be diabetic and have ibs before i had the tests, as im feeling like my body keeps going into shock and i dont think i absorb any food, food just goes straight through me, i am losing weight, 6 months ago i was 12.5 stone, now im 11 stone, 71kg approx, im 6ft4! i am worried, as i get such pains in my stomach after eating.

I went to the drs with my results and my symptoms, i dont have any energy, i have most hyperthyroid symptoms excluding the goitor and bulging eyes. I suggested to her that i have susspected hyperthyroidism with my weight loss, symptoms and 6 family members having thyroid probs ( although they are hypo) and it explains the malabsorption problem, i said i was down to 11 stone now and feel my body is in shock.

She said i shouldnt worry about it as my tsh was normal and the free t4 although high wasnt really high, i said i was really worried as i cant keep hold of food! and i was sure people could have hyper with normal tsh's!?

I have lots of family members with auto immune disorders.
I had to really push her to redo all my tests! she said she would retest tsh, and i had to say im not worried about that one! and really had to push for free t4 again, she wouldnt do the antibodies! she was reluctant to send me to an endo.
I asked to see an auto immune specialist but because i am already seeing a rheumatologist about my knees in a 6 weeks she said i  should ask them about other auto immune problems!?

can i be hyper with high free t4 and normal tsh?

Thanks

Hi Mark

i think it could have been  the tsh which was the wrong one not the free t4, the NHS just redid all of my tests, ive had half of the results back today, my Tsh was 0.8, i havent had the free t4 back yet but on my private test a few weeks ago it was 25.2 which is high, could this be considered hyperthyroid now?

Also my b12 levels are down to 245 from 285
my folate down from 3.8 to 3.4
and my vit d levels are below 25 now in 2 weeks.

I dont think im absorbing food, im losing weight and get awful bad stomachs

It is very unusual to have hyperthyroidism with a normal TSH.  It is possible the T4 level was an error, you may want a retest using a different lab or as a total T4 to confirm.
