Hypothyroidism

I have a family history of thyroid disease, my sister and maternal grandmother have graves diseases and my father and paternal grandmother have hypothryoidism.  I have 14 month old twins and at the end of my pregnancy with them I was told I was borderline for hypothyroidism and placed on levothyroxine 25mcg, I also had gestational diabetes.  After they were born the doctor told me I should be fine without the medication and I stopped taking it.  I recently have been having symptoms so i had blood work taken and my results were as follows:

TSH - 10
Free T4 - .78

I have been under a lot of stress and am not sure if my symptoms may just be from that (i am kinda grumpy or short tempored and have a hard time staying focused/ foggyness) or if it is do to my thyroid function. Should I be doing something more because of these results?

TSH shows hypothyroidism - would talk to your doctor about restarting medication.  With the family history, you likely have Hashimoto's - consider testing thyroid antibodies (TPO and Tg) to confirm.  This would probably mean a lifelong need for thyroid treatment.
