hyperthyroidism ?

went to md last week with 2 swollen glands on left side of neck,I was worried about some type of lymphoma,I have had weight loss, over 20 lbs in 1 year without trying upon exam MD notice heart rate to be 120 E.K.G done normal sinus rthymn, but was tacky.I have been very tired, not sleeping well,I also have had burning sensation on my upper back.MD thinks I may have graves disease.Blood work done no results yet.Im still concerned about swollen glands MD states they dont feel like cancerous nodes. Can you really tell by feel? The reason Im so concerned about cancer is I had malignant melonoma 3 years ago. I have appt with E.N.T in 2 weeks. MD states he didnt want to test for cancer yet He is pretty sure its thyroid related but he said he is not r/o cancer.

From what my endo described, you are not hospitalized.  It's an outpatient procedure, but it is recommended that you remain approx. 10 ft from people for 3 days.

Would recommend a neck ultrasound to see if there is a discrete mass in the thyroid or if this is general enlargement (as seen in Graves).  The labs should determine if hyperthyroidism is the cause of weight loss and elevated heart rate.  Then an endocrinologist would be consulted to treat the hyperthyroidism.
