This reflects an underactive thyroid -- it may be a transient post-pregnancy phenomenon (if recent pregnancy) or may be permanent. The most common cause is chronic inflammation due to an immune system attack (Hashimoto's). It is very treatable with medications but a TSH of this level requires attention, ideally with an endocrinology specialist.
