Is thyroid causing all this

Lately  my hair is falling out a lot and have delveloped bold patches to the sides of my head.   I am also feeling tired and my vision flactuates i.e see lines extending from letters that the optometrist attributes to some dryness (I've seen an ophthalmologist).  Aso, I have noticed that the lymph nodes under my jaw are inflamated and if I touch around where the thyroid is on the left side (the side that the lymph in inflamated) it hurts!  I went to the endocrinologist two months ago and he did an ultrasound and saw nodules that don't worry him.  I have had breast cancer history two yrs ago but now I am good!  I also saw an ENT and said that the lymph seems to be an inflamated salivary gland.  Well, then why does it hurt further down and sometime all the way to my left soulder?
I have hypothiroid and take a pill that I think is too high for quite a while.  I have not been able to stabilize because I forget to take it sometimes.  BTW, for as long as I am taking this high dose I have had trouble with memory too.  I attributed it to high stress but now I suspect it is all physical symptoms of something and all related.  Can it be that I take too much synthroid and all these are symptoms?

I had all the symptoms you had and the doctor did an ultrasound and said I had nothing to worry about the nodules looked benign.  But a few months later I went back and asked to have a biopsy done because I felt awful - and guess what - it ended up being cancer. Since then I have had my thyroid completely removed and trying to get my meds regulated.  Sometimes you have to listen to your body and not your doctor! Good Luck!

Too much or too little thyroid medication can be a problem - would test TSH to see if value is in range.  You've had a good eval with ultrasound and ENT and if there is not a suspicious nodule or lymph node that requires FNA biopsy, then observation appears appropriate.
