Lower dose?

When my dose was increased from 112 to 125 mcg, I gained 14 pounds in a short amount of time.  I had horrible headaches on levo (125), so I switched to Synthroid.  I started running and have lost 17 pounds.  I now have brief heart palpitations when I exercise hard.  I say brief, since I immediately start walking.  I also have horribly long and heavy periods.  My last TSH test was 2.485.  My doctor said I could go back to 112, in case I am over-medicated, but my numbers are good.  What should I do?  I thought I could go back to 112, since I was less hungry at that level and less weight, but I read heart palps may also be a sign I am still under-medicated.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The 2.485 is at least 6 weeks.  Would I have to worry about gaining weight again if I lower the dose, even though I gained when it was increased?  The frustration with 125mcg are the heart palps, appetite, heavy periods, and I forgot to mention infrequent dizziness.  The 112 seems more appealling.  thank you.

Is the 2.485 on Synthroid 125mcg for at least 6 weeks -- if so, the TSH is fine, but you as an individual may do best with 112mcg and a TSH in the high-normal range.
