too much medicine

i've posted in the past.  female, 31, silent thyroiditis diagnosed in may 2008, synthroid 112 initially...tapered to 88 about 6 months ago.  i feel like i'm on too much meds...having some symptoms.  had tsh tested a couple of days ago and it is low (they didn't tell me what it was...just that it was low).  i have a 6 month appointment at the end of this month.  the doctor told me to wait until my appointment to discuss a different dose.

i'm annoyed because if i don't need the meds and since i have symptoms, why should i continue?  i know that you won't recommend this (who knows...maybe you will), but could i just stop taking the 88 for the next few weeks until my next appointment?  i'll get labs done right before the appointment to see what the numbers are doing.  whatcha think?

thanks,
maria

i haven't taken my synthroid in the last few days.  i guess i should go back on my regular dose until my appointment at the end of the month.  :(  my hair is falling out like crazy and my face is breaking out.  :(  i've lost some weight, but i don't mind that side effect...:)

thanks for all of your input.  i wish you were my doctor.  :)

I cannot suggest a change in meds.
A decrease in medication does seem appropriate and it is possible to have recovered from the thyroiditis to the point that you don't need meds, but this usually is done in a gradual taper....
