Symptoms / side effects

I am at the early stages of PPT (I also have postpartum anxiety) my endocrinologist put me on Tapazole 2 weeks ago. I have a mild soar throat but I believe it's merely the remnants of a cold.  However, I am losing an insane amount of hair, above the average hair loss due to postpartum.  Is this the combo of thyroid, meds and postpartum...  I'm on tapazole 10mg daily dose. Is there something I can do?  I had my blood work done on Friday and WBC was normal... does it fluctuate easily?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Is it graves or PPT?  Likely the endo is not sure - that is why you are on tapazole.  PPT does not respond to tapazole and will get better on its own (4-8 week hyper phase followed by a hypo phase then usually recovery).  Graves disease will need treatment with tapazole -- so ask about which he/she thinks it is and why.  Graves will usually have positive TSI and or TBII antibody tests.  Both will have positive TPO and Tg antibody tests.  Both cause some thyroid enlargement, occassional hoarse voice and sore throat - but PPT does the latter two more commonly.  Hair loss is due to postpartum and the hyper combo - not likely the tapazole - it will stop usually within 2 months of starting.
