TSH Level during pregnancy

Hi,

I'm diagonsed by hypothyroid recently . I'm already 32 years of age and now I'm worried because of my thyroid problem whether I can conceive or not. Also will I be late for my first pregnancy. My TSH level is greater than 75 as per the blood test in India. I have started taking pills Eltroxin from past three months. My question is :
1. Can I plan pregnancy with this TSH?  If not, how many months should I hold?
2. If I become pregnant are there any chances of miscarriage?
3. Do my child also will get affected with Thyroid in later years?

1 - would first correct TSH to target of 0.3-2.0 with planned conception.
2 - there is an increased risk of miscarriage with this condition, but proper levothyroxine (eltroxin) management reduces the risk to the usual 15% risk in normal pregnancy.
3 - This is likely Hashimoto's, which can be genetic -- but the immediate risk is fetal development problems if the thyroid is not fully corrected prior to conception.

Hi,

Ya sure , I will have a doctor check up in another two weeks or so. Also I'm read the symptoms of type II diabetes here and see that I have the same symptoms like., frequent urinating, thirsty but so often, fatigue, etc etc., so I will have a diabetes check up as well....I think I have that too...:(

Regards,
Priya.

with proper treatment you should be able to conceive and have a healthy pregnancy; but as mentioned above - would make sure the TSH is normal before trying.
