Hi Dr. Lupo,
I have a question regarding TSH and pregnancy. I had a Partial Thyroidectomy in December. 4 weeks post op my TSH was an 11. I was put on .050 Synthroid and 4 weeks later I was 5.4. They put me on .075 and two weeks later I was at 4.9. Here is my question.. I want to get pregnant.. and it seems I have been waiting for months. My OB says go for it.. my TSH is fine and it will probably drop even more since it was only 2 weeks since my increase when they tested. She is not at all concerned about the TSH, and she is a GREAT doctor. One of the best in Memphis, and normally I would totally trust her judgement, but I am reading that it will cause mental problems with a high TSH. I would love your advice. I am currently taking clomid, and should be ovulating starting today. I would love to start trying now, but do not want to put my baby in danger. Thanks for your advice!! Also, All of my other numbers are well within the range and normal.
