Thyroid Trouble

I have had my thyroid checked since I was 18 years old, along with my high cholesterol.  Everyone assumes I have thyroid trouble because I have always been thin.  In 2006 I had a hysterectomy and my TSH was 0.8.  I started on Lexapro a few months later.  In 2007, while on Lexapro, my TSH was 1.76.  In June 2008, my TSH was 2.56 and my doctor told me that if the level reaches 3.0, he would like to start me on therapy.  Not only have I had a hysterectomy, been taking Lexapro, and Spirnolactone (for acne), I have gained 13 pounds.  I am still 5'9 weighing 135, but I have never gained weight.  I had contributed the gain to my surgery, but I am beginning to wonder about the drugs.  I have taken myself off of the drugs, and in one week and 2 days, have lost 5 pounds.  The constand hunger has gone away.  I have had two children, gained 70 lbs with each and still dropped back down to 120 a few months after their birth.  Do you think my thyroid has been unlevel because of the Lexapro?  I have read that this can be a side effect of Lexapro, and Spirnolactone. When do you suggest I test my TSH levels again.

Thyroid levels are normal -- the TSH will fluctuate like this and unless it its consistently high (debatable, but likely >4 consistently) there is no evidence of thyroid disease.  Would consider testing annually.
