Thyroid antibodies

Hello.

I was wondering if you could tell me what these test results mean:
Thyroid Ab (microsonomal Ab) at 176 IU/ml
Thyroglobulin Ab 502 IU/ml
Ferritin 5.2 ug/L

The other results fall in the normal range.

It appears you have Hashimoto's (a chronic inflammation of the thyroid due to an immune system attack on the thyroid) with associated goiter and nodules/cysts.  In some cases like this we use levothyroxine medication to help prevent goiter growth -- need to look closely at the TSH level, would usually consider meds when >3.  Repeating ultrasound in 6 months to re-evaluate the cyst and nodule would be important as if they grow/change then FNA biopsy may be necessary.

Your ferritin may be low -- suggesting iron deficiency, would ask your doctor about this.

I forgot to mention that I have two lumps in my throat. I had an ultrasound done and one lump is a 1.5cm cyst and the other is 0.5 cm and is considered goiter as the thyroid gland was considered slightly swollen.
