Thyroid nodule

Second biopsy on left lobe  measuring 5.0x1.5x1.2- they now say my daughter has thickening around the thyroid causing size and its scar tissue they say isthmus thickness 0.2cm.. I am not so sure. I'm frustrated this has been a three year thing with Drs arguing to take it out. It says thicker wall and thicker septations compared to prior study. She also has developed in the left lobe another lesion measuring 2mm. So right lobe measures 4.8x1.2x1.6cm. My mom has had hers taken out as a teen her right side. She has hashimottos disease and been on synthroid since 20. Can someone please help me. Please..........What do you think?

Hello Dr. I have had a partial thyroid removal in 2004.I am not or have ever taken any thyroid medicine. Now all of the sudden I have symptoms of what I believe would be hypothyroid. I just recently went to my specialist that did some blood tests, TSH, FT4 ,  FT3 ,and cortisol. The tests came out fine for my thyroid but now he wants a 24 hour urine cortisol and creatinine . Is this still about my thyroid? I just talked to the nurse at his office about this new test and she wasn't very informational to me. My hair is still falling out real bad and I can not for the life of me loose any weight is why I went to see him. Thank you so much for any reply.

If the biopsy was done on the left lobe and not a true nodules/mass on the left, it is likely Hashimoto's with some fibrosis and scar tissue commonly seen in Hashimoto's.  There is not a description in your question about a nodule other than the 0.2 cm "lesion", these very small "lesions" are typically pseudo-nodules in the setting of Hashimoto's.  Would see an endocrinologist who does his/her own ultrasound to help sort this out.
