Worried about TSH levels/tinnitus/smaller pituitary gland

Hi I had my Thyroid levels check in May it was 11.7 and last week my Dr retested me and it was 3.9. Also I am not taking any medication but having symptoms all my life and last year  April 2005  my Neurologist  had me tested my  level of TSH was 2.53.  My new Family Dr is waiting for the rest of the results of my blood work to see if it autoimmune related. He say maybe I have flair ups. I have symptoms all my life of thyroid problem even hearing loss that no specialist can tell me why. I am just told my hearing will get worse and they don't know why. I have tinnutis in my left ear; hearing lost from moderate to severe. Also last year I was diagnose with CIDP another Autoimmune Disease. I also would like to know if I am getting flair ups should I be on thyroid medication so when it happens it won't bother me so much. I also hate the fact that 90%of the symptoms of hypothyroidism matches what I felt most of my life. Also I should mention I have a small pituitary gland does that mean that my TSH numbers should be lower to accomodate my smaller pituitary gland? What should I tell my Dr if he says yes it's Autoimmune related but my numbers are ok for now? I don't like I should for a flare to start getting treatment. Any help on how to approach this would be appreciated
Thanks

Sue

The small pituitary is unlikely to cause abnormal TSH responses.  Testing antibodies makes sense -- if positive, a trial of treatment with levothyroxine is advised given the history -- unless the TSH continues to drop (ie, below 2.5).  Not sure about the tinnitus -- not typically related to thyroid.

Thanks for your reply I thought ringing of the ears was a symptom some people get with Hypothyroid problems.

Thanks again

Sorry my phrase (I don't like I should for a flare to start getting treatment.) should have been  I don't like the fact I have to wait for a flair up to start getting treatment. (I blame my ADHD for the fact I don't take my time to double check my post properly I should triple check it)
