confused about pathology report

HI Dr.
I have a left lobectomy performed on 10/27. This was a 6x4x4cm nodule now listed on intrapoerative pathology report as 'hyperplasia." What concerns me is the presence of Hurthle cell changes in the report, both the FNA and the OR frozen section biopsy. I do not have a copy of the reg pathology report. This tumor should have had a regualr pathology investigation done right? Th dr.'s office receptionist said the intraoperative report is all that was in my file. I am concerned becuase of the Hurthle cells. Dr. said the tumor was well-encapsulated. Should I be concerned about this?
Thanks,
Donna

Hurthle change is common in the thyroid -- seen in both Hashimoto's and other benign thyroid conditions.  hyperplasia means overgrowth -- it appears this was a benign overgrowth.  If you are still concerned, you could ask that the surgical specimen be sent to an expert lab (university of Pennsylvania, Hopkins, Mayo etc) for evaluation to be certain.

thank-you. I think all is ok, now that I understand Hurthle cells are not the definitive Cancer cell,
