f/u ? What type of nausea med for hyperprolactemia

This is a follow up question.  With an elevated prolactin level what type of nausea meds can one take.  If Reglan is out of the picture can i take Tigan, Zofran, Antivert etc.  I am eating next to nothing and have lost over 10% of my body weight due to this.  Thank you for your input.  My level is 165.  Also would this elevation be causing nausea?

Would recommend an MRI of pituitary if not already done - I don't believe antivery increases prolactin nor Tigan - but zofran could to a small degree -- sometimes it's trial and error - the reglan though is a classic culprit.

Elevated prolactin is certainly associated w/ osteopososis, so a bone density study is in order, if this has gone on for very long. I agree w/ the good doctor that you need to clarify why your prolactin is high. Several ant-psychotic/mood stabilizer medications do this regularly. I have seen it w/ Risperdal, Haldol & Invega. There is medication to bring down the prolactin, if you can not find a cause that can be fixed. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply.  My Brain MRI didn't show any lesions and now they are repeating the test along with some others as my cortisol was elevated too.  Haven't been feeling that great overall.  I know they are doing a 24 hour uring for cortisol and one to rule out carcinod cancer.....I'm home doing one today.  Wish me luck!  If nothing shows up she will consider putting me on Dostinex to see if we can lower it.
