fna results of cyst abnormal

hi dr Lupa, i have written in the past about discovering a lump on the right hand side of my thyroid, which came up pretty suddenly. I have since been the the general doctor for blood tests, ultrasound and a FNA. My blood work was all normal except low levels of vitamin d. the ultrasound revealed a mild goiter on the right lobe and 3 cyst like structures, the largest one on the right nodule around 22mmx21mm. the report said it was mixed so i wend for a fna, and the doctor perfoming it said it looked like a cyst that had bled into intself. they took some samples and sent to pathology. Now i got a call from my gp who tells me the results are "abnormal" and need further testing and i need to go get it tested further. Of course i am petrified as she told me she needed to see me in person to discuss the results but was full booked until Monday. I think thats very unprofessional to keep me haing over the weekend and i am a mess, not sleeping, thinking its the worst.is it still likely to be nothing even though the biopsy said the cells were not what they were expecting? im a very healthy 28 year old female, no history or problems of this sort. i had an ovarian cyst about 7 years ago but thats about it. I had a baby 14 months ago and i dont know if that would have made my hormones cray, but all my thyroid levels are perfectly normal. Now im worried because ive been reading things like cancer, and "tyroidectomy" and m husband and i were trying to have another baby in the last month but have since stopped since all of this has gone on.Is it still likely to be nothing, or should i be prepared for bad news? when they did the fna they drained alot of the fluid and the dr said he was pretty confdent it was a cyst that bled into itself, but now pathology says otherwise. as you can imagine m petrified. i have no symptoms whatsoever except being really stressed. Please give me a bit of insight into your thoughts, i dont see the specialist until tuesday next week

This is not cancer.  Hurthle metaplasia is a reaction to cystic degeneration in this setting.

The cytology report came back as suggestive cystic degeneration in a colloid nodule with hurthle cell metaplasia. Is this cancer??

Most cysts are benign - cannot comment without the cytopathology report.  It may be that there were not enough thyroid cells to make a definite diagnosis and that is what they need to discuss - ie, considering a repeat FNA in a few months.
