hyperthyroid or autoimmune disease???

Every female in family before had thyroid problems.... my mother had hyperthyroid/graves disease and goiter... I was tested @13yrs old and was found to have slightly hyperactive thyroid.... well @30yrs old I now have a goiter and 2 nodules.... but when I went back to endo.. they said that they think we never had hyperthyroid that we possibly have a genetic autoimmune disease... they said there are several that can cause a secondary thyroid response..... they also think that this is why I have been so sick for so many years and no way to diagnose my particular symptoms... all my tests would come back basically normal!  Now since the past 6months... I have been going through a lot of testing just like the past 6-17 years but now I am showing a failing galbladder, calcification in both breasts, and this is just insanity.... they think I have adrenal insufficiency.... can this screw with the other issues at hand as well.... they also still think I might have fibromyalgia.... PLEASE HELP! IS THIS NORMAL TO GO THROUGH? I'm so lost in all of this and obviously quite scared! Anything would be of some help! Even just to feel like I am not going completly insaine.... and yes .... I am marginaly depressed but it is absolutly situational! Tons of test lots of problems and no answers tend to do that to a person!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Your post does not give any labs, ultrasound results or other data upon which to make a diagnosis or suggestions.  Would work with the endocrinologist to see if you need thyroid medications, thyroid nodule biopsy or simply observation of the thyroid status.

Did you try taking some supplements?  myself I am taking the selenium, calcium, vit D, C B and E , co Q10  and L-lysine..I mean this is me, so far it's been helping me through out the day, and also during the night, in order for me to get to sleep, I am drinking the baking soda and apple cider mixed with water....it did helped me..and i never stop drinking it..
but anyway that's me......speaking of being healthy. I too! very healthy up until now that I turn 38, out of nowhere wallah! feeling like i been beaten with a baseball bat..and then next thing i know, i am dealing with hyper possibly hashi or graves, or God knows only what it is....just keep your hopes up, and be positive, someday we will get some answers to all of these and hopefully and wishing so much that we will feel normal again...

Thank you for making me feel like I'm not the only one out here going through this! I know logically that I'm not the only one.... but when you are sitting around getting test after test and NOTHING pans out... you start to feel alone and possibly a bit crazy! I have just went through a mammo (have micro-calcifications), and just was told mt gallbladder is possibly failing intermitently, have been tested for so many things (all in all probably 30+ tests in past 2 years) have been told possible: umteenmillion things then nothing! I deffinatly have 2 nodules on thyroid and a goiter, all of which just happened in the last 6 months... but had known elevated thyroid since I was 13 yrs old! It ***** not knowing how you will feel every day you open your eyes! One day it's one thing and the next day it's something else... how do we live like this? I also show ALL symptoms of severly hyperthyroid but only slight elevation shows in blood work! :-( I have held on and kept going through all this in hopes of answers and now I'm becoming so discouraged in my quest to feel normal again that I feel as if the only resolve I have is to throw my hands up and just accept that I am (in general) a pretty healthy young woman who will feel terrible for no reason at all for the rest of my life! This *****! I hate medical "practice" because they seemingly KNOW nothing! Tired of being a guinepig! Best of luck to all others going through this too!

I know how you feel about all the feelings you are having now..I have just been diagnosed with hyperthyroid and possibly having Hashi's but i'm having a symptoms of Graves or hyperthyroid, my blood work is elevated not too high though,,,experience with my symptoms sometimes, i cried for no reason at all, or maybe just being depressed about having this disease......you should find yourself another doctor who will listen to you and give you result....you are having symptoms and have a history of being hyperthyroid few years ago, it should have something in you that needs to be diagnose and give you result and start treatments....good luck to you! hope you feel better...btw graves or hashi's, silent thyroiditis can be considered autoimmune disorders.....according to what i've read online..
