legs joints are paining b'cuz of thyroid

my  girlfriend just 23yr and over weight too. she having thyroid as we got to know just two months back only from now.  as she is having pain in her legs and  all  joints. she gets pain as she sit or fold her legs for sometime, can't able to stand up.
how she able to get ride off this pain, even after taking medicine she don't get relief

Leg pain may be seen in overactive or underactive thyroid conditions, and it typically takes 2-4 months after thyroid is regulated to see an improvement.  However, the leg pain may be unrelated to the thyroid condition and followup with her doctor is recommended.

Have they tested her Vit D, B12 & Calcium as well?

Is she diagnosed as hyper or hypo?

She could try taking OTC advil or Tylenol? Has she called her doctor to see if could give her anything for that?
