levothyroxine and cough meds for child?

Please someone help me!  My 10 yr old daughter recently was diagnoses with a multinodular goiter and elevated tsh.  All other thyroid function normal range.  Not autoimune but just started levothyroxine daily, she is on o low dose-1/2 a pill(.25mg) to start out. She has a cold-can she take over he counter cough meds ?  She takes her  Leve at 6 in the morning. Anyone else out there with a child and thyroid problems?  Would love to hear about it-this is all new to me and scary for both of us.

In terms of taking levothyroxine and cold medications -- there is usually not a problem provided that the thyroid levels are normal. The concern comes primarily if you have an over-active thyroid, which does not appear to be the case for your daughter.

There have been recent concerns about children's cold medications and safety in general.  Check with her pediatrician to see what is recommended.  Taking the levothyroxine is not likely to influence the choice of cold meds though.
