pain in neck that radiates to the ears

hi im 18 years of age and have had neck pain for 3 to 4 months here are my symptoms

-pain in left side of neck sometimes right that radiates up to my ears
-pain in ears after i eat hot foods
-lump in my neck(which is probably my adams apple)
-sometimes i get flem buildup in the back of my neck
-usually throat pain at night
-always feeling tired

my family has had no problems with thyroids and no history of any forms of cancers(although cancer can happen at any age) i have also been feeling kind of nauseas and loss of appetite, i can still exercise etc

just wanted to know whether thyroid cancer is one of the outlooks to this or not

my family has never had thyroid problems nor any types of cancer

Would see your general doctor to see if any additional evaluation of the thyroid is needed - a simple thyroid ultrasound would help determine if there is any suspicious nodule.

I have and "uncomfortable" feeling (i.e. not pain, but severe tightness) on the right side of my neck.  I have an enlarged thyroid on the right side.  I also get muffled feeling in my ear and have now been told that I have several swollen nodes down the right neck.  I am currently being treated for the enlarged thyroid with Levothyroxine and an antibiotic for the swollen glands.

In order to determine if your neck pain and adam's apple are thyroid related, you must go to the doctor.  I went to several (sorry to say), but am finally being treated.  I still get all of the tight swelling in the neck, but at least I am being treated now.  I will return to the doctors on June 6 & 10 to find out more.

Don't let it ride as long as I did (since the end of March) go to the doctor and get it all looked at!

Good luck and best of health! ~Kim

You must go to an Endocrinologist to rule out nodule/goiter and/or thyroid cancer.
That is the only way to know for sure.  Good luck!
