Disregard of LN:is that OK?

Hi my original Q long so illdo my best to summarize using numbers.

1. Lymphnode enlarged, dentist felt it,pcp sent me to ent guy who sent me for ultrasound guided biopsy. I had gotten u/s without bx1 week prior.

2. Initial us (no bx) showed thyr nodule which triggered prescription for with bx.

3.biopsy showed follicular lesion favoring adenomatous benign. The only thing moted on us report aboutLN wad it looked like the one on the other sude&benign-appearg. I think the only reason they put that was b/c initial symptom was lymphnode.

4. Long story short- ent rude, unhelpful so changed to referral by friends to another dr  who happened to not be ent but endocr.

5.Endocr. did u/s saw nodule, said he did not look at LN b/c not
enough about the( thyroid) nodule to have been concerned about ln.

6. So nowSTILL dont know anything about LN.

7.Other: he said ent prescribed thyroid med ok but4wrong reason. Ent using to ? shrink module, endocr using it b/c im hypo(3.94)slightly hypo but symptomatic. He's not the friendliest but he took lotsa time with me  first his office then examroom then to office again.

8. Keeping my second(now third) attempt about Lymphnode. This appt is with MDAnderson!!
that's it, opinions if any would be appreciated since im new to this.

Most prominent lymph nodes are benign and ultrasound is very good at determining if a node has a suspicious appearance.  MD Anderson has very excellent ultrasound skills for this - so that should be a more definitive consultation.

The thyroid nodule appears "indeterminate" but favoring benign.  Would have the slides read at MD Anderson from the biopsy - if still indeterminate but otherwise favoring benign, you could ask about the Afirma test on a repeat FNA to help decide if surgery is needed to make a definite diagnosis.

The nodule in the thyroid is likely to be unrelated to the lymph node so both need proper evaluation by an experienced clinician.
