thyrolar vs synthroid and cytomel

I had my thyroid removed 36 years ago due to cancer.  I have been on Thyrolar all of those 36 years except for a short test period when I was put on synthroid.  During the time on synthroid I had mood swings, a general ill feeling. Just didn't feel like myself.  Today I tried to refill my prescription and found that Thyrolar is not available and I am unsure if it will ever be available. I have an appointment to see my internist on Monday and would like to go armed with good information.  My pharmacist recommended Synthroid with Cytomel.  I had been taking Thyrolar 3 for many years and was in the last year changed to Thyrolar 2.  I am 60 years old, 5'1" and weigh 135.

switching to synthroid and cytomel should give you the same benefits.
