Know of Any good Doctors?

I was curious if anyone knew of any good doctors in new york city.  I am seeing one right now but he makes me very uncomfortable, regarding what i know and don't know about my thyroid problem.  He also comes off to me as an irresponsible doctor and he returns my calls four or five days after I left a message.  I am very anxious to switch but I don't want to stop seeing this one until I have a new one to switch over to right away.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!  Thank you.

Thank you, I'm going to do that.  I am 21 and I've been seeing a doctor in a hospital and he's no good either but I'll try a different hospital. I just feel like settling sometimes with the doctor I have because I get fustrated, it's hard enough dealing with my hypothyroid problem and trying to focus on work and school, one would think that they shouldn't have to go searching for a good doctor.

Hi. I have panhypopituitarism, which I think also includes Hypothyroid. Although I live in CA, I hope what I write can be of some help. I recently turned 21 and because of my insurance, could no longer go to the Children's Hospital of L.A.  Knowing that there is a City of Hope hospital close to where I live, I saw my PCP just to get a referral for an endocrinologist and went there. I recommend, if you haven't found one yet, that you see your PCP for the referral and call around to the big hospitals to see if they accept your insurance. Usually the really big hospitals tend to have at least one doctor who you'll like.
